Rudrabhishek Puja
Rudrabhishek Puja is a sacred Vedic ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva, particularly in his fierce form, Rudra. It is one of the most powerful and revered pujas in Hinduism, performed to invoke the divine blessings of Shiva for health, prosperity, and spiritual growth. The ritual involves the abhishek (ceremonial bathing) of the Shiva Lingam using sacred substances such as water, . During the puja, Vedic mamilk, honey, curd, ghee, and sugarcane juicentras—especially the Sri Rudram, including Namakam and Chamakam from the Yajurveda—are chanted. These mantras are believed to cleanse negative energies and bring peace. Rudrabhishek is especially powerful when performed on Mondays, during the Shravan month, or on Maha Shivaratri. Devotees perform this puja to remove planetary doshas, seek protection from evil, and attain inner peace. The ritual is performed either in temples or at home with the guidance of qualified priests.
